Chapter 101: Two Students in Detention

Hunter looked at his class card with a heavy heart. He failed his Songs 34 by a hair, with no consideration for any remedial term. His professor has already given him a removal examination, but luck has not found him on both occasions. He need to enroll the subject anew. 

Aside from his academic woes, as if everything is not already going worse, he is serving detention with another student for failing to produce a project in Miracle Science 27, which is due today. They were supposed to submit an elixir on the antidote to a fountain of youth side effect, and he has no idea that it was even given to the class as a homework.

The other student, Maxwell, just forgot his project at the dormitory and will be accepted tomorrow, but he did not escape the detention. They were both sorting index cards, and will spend another hour in their chore before being dismissed, when he noticed someone dragging another student to the farthest study place at the library.

It was a very odd scene since the other student looks very scared. When they found their seats, Hunter tried listening to what they are saying.

"Are you sure you did not tell the House Master?"

"No. I did not. I am very sure."

"Then what is this? Why do I still have it?"

"I do not know."

"Liar!"

"I do not know okay!"

They were trying to keep their voices low. One thing about Hunter's ears, he has a very good listening right ear. The two were arguing about something. Something controversial.

"So what about now? I need to graduate!"

"It was the Book of Chants!"

"I know. Why is it not working now? I know you know."

"I do not know okay!"

"Liar!"

The two seem to notice that their conversation is not private anymore by using their senses. Hunter pretended to be focused on the index cards. After a moment, the two students left the library as if nothing had happened.
