Chapter 106: Red Alert

A television newscast is now being heard outside Nanotechnology Park:

"According to the authorities, the truck under question has been deliberately attacked by unknown assailants, killing the driver and the various persons manning the top secret delivery truck as it was about to exit the freeway. Investigation is on-going as we speak, and everybody is advised to be vigilant to any potential danger."

"As a result of this deliberate attack, the Chief Taxonomist has raised red alert to all security forces within the vicinity and key points of the city to make sure that the threat will be suppressed in the soonest possible time."

"Residents are advised to refrain from unnecessary travel unless warranted, to keep all emergency numbers close and to attend to their own personal safety within the confines of their homes. The government assures all citizens that the situation is under control and the red alert status will be lifted as soon as possible."

"In other news..."

The man sitting on the bench smirked, being pleased with himself. It is happening as planned, and nothing can stop the creatures. He has waited for this moment for years, to challenge the government's ability to suppress chaos. And he knows chaos. There is nothing they can do.

Of course, he has an axe to grind. They all left him just to crash to the ground, so unceremoniously to the point of humiliation that he can never forget. He knows how it feels to be deserted. A perfect order will never exist without humanity. Emotions are necessary, and now they will feel the same pain they inflicted on him. Their perfect order will crumble down before their conceited pride.

It will happen soon, and the time is now.
