Chapter 108: The Illustrator's Predicament

Their base camp has scored some victories, as well as defeats. And now that a red alert has been raised, the camp has been advised to attack with caution. Quantum Rifles are weapons that cannot be underestimated, and now that one of them has been hit, they have no choice but to stare at its ferocious damage.

They have no idea if they are succeeding in their role for the Agreement, because nothing has been read so far. Attack after attack, they were observing for any sign in the Taxonomists, as the graffiti has been placed strategically in its place. So far, none of the skirmishes has succeeded. Now, they are counting casualties with no early sight of hope.

"Quick! The elixir!"

Patrick has seen many battles in his life, and he has developed a certain air of deligence in his dealings with the enemy. He has always a smart move that is quick with decisiveness, and this is important, very much so, to the task at hand. The illustrator wounded by the Quantum Rifle tried to speak.

"A ball... of light..." She struggled to say the words. Everybody heard her, but nobody dared to say a word. Patrick decided to question her, instead.

"What ball of light?!" He asked with so much haste. "Give her the elixir!"

The wounded illustrator took the elixir to counter any physical effect of the bullet on her body. Her name is Regina, and this is her predicament.

"I saw it!" she said, courageously putting a smile. "The Agreement has been read."

"Are you sure?" Patrick was filled with excitement. "Then we have to plan the next move."
