Chapter 172: A Crack in the Firewall to Hell

It was the entrance door to a place called hell, guarded by several sculptures known to the Heavens as the Martyrs of the Purgatory. The images were consecrated long ago in the name of the King of Kings, and the place of sanctity was solemnly dedicated to the Most Holy Savior.

Purgatory and hell are, in a sense, joined by a common Firewall, although most Angels disagree as to its integrity since not much is known about hell, except that it is a place of eternal damnation, and nothing much else.

The Martyrs of the Purgatory are images of several Angels surrounding the holy cross, where a red cloth was hanging instead of the actual image of Christ. They are twelve in number, with each Angel doing a unique stance while flying around it, with every detail prominent in the material in which it was carved to perfection.

These sacred grounds guard any defiled soul and spirit from escaping the clutches of hell by serving as instruments of the holiness of the Word. At the base of this glorious image is the Holy Book, bounded by gold leather and tied to a wooden stand to keep it safe.

It is said that this place has seen many atrocities that was happening to the other place it was guarding from, and the monument that now stands between them is a living testament to its ill-fated history.

But now the question of the integrity of the Firewall that separates it from the parallel universes is becoming a grave concern, for fear that it might collapse. As of this writing, the cracks near the Martyrs of the Purgatory are now visibly noticeable, and it becomes more prominent as time passes by.

As this narration is taking place, a black cloud then enters the sacred grounds with little issues, and it seems like it cannot be repelled by any Summoning Arts that the holy image has received. The songs have little effect, and the efficacy of the venerable image seems to be waning and weakened.

After that, just for a moment, the black cloud has successfully bypassed the guardianship of the Martyrs of the Purgatory, and it is now seeping through the cracks of the Firewall. It was once understood, like this image, that the relics of Adam and Eve are as efficacious as the remnants of the Paradise once called the Garden of Eden.

But sadly that is no longer the case.
