Chapter 171: Mathershire
The capital of the Literary Committee was completely destroyed. The remnants of the city of Mathershire was simply an illustration of an ill-fated civilization whose treasures have been reduced to ashes, and nothing of value was recognizable from where it used to proudly stand. They say literature was immortal like a tree, standing proud and tall, a witness to many histories, thriving and silently living, but nothing of this sort applies to this case.
It is fair to say that Mathershire seems to just vanish from the reality of the world, with no evidence that it existed for many centuries. The ashes will never tell the story of how glorious the city was, and it seems that the Literary Committee has been cast down, killed, and never returned from where they once stood with enormous strength.
The last historian of the shire was completely trivial in his own way. He was called Crucible, and he was the only remaining Black Dragon of his species. Many folklore has been written about him, but the information available are seldom accurate.
His accounts of the origin of this place was as important as the existence of the Literary Committee itself. Ever since the Final Days, the desire to re-establish Mathershire has been very keen, just as the intent to recover The Renaissance Society from the claws of the Scientific Council remains in the heart of the Literary community.
The more weapons the perfect order develops, the more threat it poses to the integrity of the former places of the Imperial Synod, determined to be annexed by the regime. There is a future to save among themselves, and they must act fast to counter the Scientific Council's plans for complete domination.
The Literary Committee must find its way to survive this blatant attempt to obliterate them from the parallel universes.
