Chapter 167: Attack at the Sanctuary

The Winguard Corps has been alerted of a sudden attack at the Most Holy Celestial Cathedral at the center of the Sanctuary, near the entrance to the West Wing Gates where the sculpture of Jesus Christ wearing a crown of thorns was lovingly dedicated. The attackers are swarms of scorpions, which is not common even in Heaven, and many have sense something evil in them. It is a highly abnormal phenomenon, and has caused a lot of security concerns.

The incident was reported just hours after an attack on the President of the Board of Governors of Burnhall University was reported to the Commodore of the Three Branches of Service.

A reason for a cause of alarm, indeed.

Everyone knew these parallel universes work in a similar way, and a certain barrier protects them to blend with each other, called the Firewall, although Heaven's protective wall was proven impenetrable years ago, when everything was falling apart and evil rages somewhere far. Sadly, it is no longer the case.

The Celestial Cathedral has since then ordered a review of this Firewall to strengthen it, and for quite some time, research has been done to prevent its untimely collapse, and time has taken some of its efficacy away with no lasting benefit.

In fact, the Most Holy Servant Prefect of Adoration has reported a decline in prayers received by the Celestial Authorities to fund the repairs needed for this Firewall, in addition to so many concerns and items listed on the budget.

But the Firewall cannot wait any longer. Now, these scorpions have some business to do.
