Chapter Eighty: At the Other Side of the Magical Forest

The magical forests span across acres of land for nearly centuries, including its secrets and sacred histories, as well as its later exploitation. Inside it were deaths that were never recorded, or treachery that hasn't been avenged.

At the other side of that vast territory full of trees was the Blank Wall, a thin layer of air that forms a shield that separates the forest from the other land. Nothing has been explored between this barrier, and a lot of stories circulates as to what lies beyond it.

This land is where the Republic stands, a system of civilization that is unique to the centaurs, which has not seen a war for more than a century, and is still counting. Every year, the centaurs pay tribute to this period of peace. In fact, right now, celebrations are happening in the four capitals of the Republic, and what a joyous celebration it is!

The centaurs believe that the source of their inner peace has something to do beyond that shield, a belief that is enforced by the rich folklore of their revered literature.

The Republic stands between the two great mountains where the magical forests nestled on its foot. It is widely believed that these mountains contain a power beyond measure, maybe a secret civilization that they were not meant to discover. The folklore forms part of their tightly knitted culture.

But beyond that, they also believed of a parallel universe that is happening beyond their borders, almost simultaneously unfolding. This belief is deeply held in respect, such that it was held of great sanctity, almost divine, that traversing them would desecrate the literatures of the very basis their existence.

Not much is known about the centaurs, even for them. They have never understood how things begun, or who even made them. But they are sure of one thing: they exist like the parallel universes, and, that, the unicorns, are their mortal enemy.
