Chapter Seventy Nine: The Devil's Blockade

The Demon pointed his palm to the road ahead of him, cognizant of the shield. In an instant, he recognized the veil that separates the ultimate reality from the secular, and he is about to enter the realm. As his hand is raised towards it, he uttered the incantation.

"Revelare!"

The veil cleared in an instant, and a walkway has appeared from out of nowhere. He looked around to see if anyone was within the vicinity; and when he saw no one, he entered from where the veil covered the way, run through it and vanished like thin air. He has successfully breached the Devil's Blockade.

"There you are."

The voice declared after he arrived. It was a room full of demons, of creatures that were blazing with fire and pride, of little nuggets of sin personified in balls of black fire, and some they call the occult. The demon who has spoken was sitting in a glass throne, and he seem unamused of the surprise guest of the evening.

"I tried my best," the guest said. He seem to have done something terribly wrong. "He was too quick for me, but now he is dead."

The room exploded into laughter. "Your best?" the voice was deafening with mockery, "he had almost beaten you. Are you sure you can handle a Neyork by yourself?"

The laughter ensued.

"If not for that angel I could have killed him easily!" the guest said, insulted.

"An angel, you say?" the voice replied with disgust. "I can't believe that their songs were not easy to avoid. You seem to lose your old flare. Maybe it is time for you to step aside."

"No! This is not fair. If only I could use the efficacy of the relics!"

"For what? For what use is the relics to you? You are not worthy to wear the necklace. You can't even dance to the songs of Angels!"

"But wait!" the guest said, "If only you can unleash my hate. I have every right to hate every single one of them. I am pretty sure I can reinforce this blockade even further."

The demon owning the voice stood up from his seat. The room became very quiet.

"That we will see," he said.
