Chapter Seventy Seven: Fort Velocity

In an instant, they were all dead. 

Nobody really knows why they have to be killed, so the top agents just said that they are deemed a security threat. No one is allowed entry to Fort Velocity as a top secret facility, and access to the place is extremely difficult. The secrets of the Scientific Council is buried in this place.

The Fort is heavily guarded, and the fences are tall. Most people do not know exactly what is happening inside, and propaganda has been certain in asserting that the facility is an important pillar to the intellectually perfect new order.

In one of the rooms inside the Fort is a another secure high level security facility. Here, not even the Leaders of Taxonomy, or any official, even politicians, can gain access without proper, strict authorization. It is a terrible place to be, as some of the rumors say.

Now, inside that facility, a scientist is lying on one of the experimental beds. He was strapped to it, and a lot of intravenous fluids are flowing through his veins. He wanted to fight, but he is slowly losing his consciousness. Another scientist is tending to an apparatus beside him.

"You are a liar!" The scientist on the bed said. He was breathing strainously, his breathing blurrying his words.

"I never said I subscribe to any ethics," says the other scientist. "You will be dead any minute now."

"How could you? I trusted you, Vincent!"

"Trust? I never knew such thing. This is the perfect order, after all. It does not concern with what's right or wrong. Nothing is to be trusted, but yourself. Soon, we will have control of everything. You trust too much, and that is the problem."

He wanted to respond but he feels very tired. His eyes wanted to close, and his consciousness is starting to leave him. He is dying, and he knows it. He clenched his fist one more time to regain whatever strength is left, and now his heart is slowly fading away.

"Happy Birthday," the other scientist said, as he confirms if the other scientist is already dead.
