Chapter Fifty One: The Chairman of Experiments

The Chairman of Experiments is talking to somebody:

"This is not the right time to talk about this. Have you not seen what happened before? Everything rests on the success of this experiment!"

"I know. There were errors before, some of which were major mistakes. It can happen again. It can be worse."

"We cannot make mistakes at this point. A lot has been at stake. This land has it, and we can all feel it. The reason why the Literary Committee never want to leave this land after the final days is because their power resides here. Even without their presence."

"There is no guarantee that we will find it!"

"Of course. But there is also no certainty that we will fail. It is better to try than regret. Our knowledge of this is very advanced. One day, an optical illusion will become a possibility."

"This is very risky I will not support it!"

"Support? What do you mean support? You have been a part of this from the very beginning."

"...."

"Where did you get that? What do you really want from me?"

"Cooperate with me, that's all I am asking. Help me manuever my way into the politicians. You have everything to lose. This is a demand, not a request."

"Don't hurt them!"

"Have you become very fond of the boy? Use your economic modelling and nobody will get hurt. I need you to do this."
