Chapter Thirty Three: An Epigraph

She is Jessie but she is sometimes also Ruth, and she sings the songs her father loved. Those songs were a reminder of a great past, that although gone is a memorial of happy moments. It is a source of joy. It is always a good feeling to let music peek through the cracks of our hearts. It illuminates the soul so much, and it allows to reflect, and heal, and cope, and love.
Her's was a doppleganger.
And now, not only that she is hearing music, she is staring at it with her glistening eyes. Her tears were brought by joy. She is speaking through her heart. The music was too good to be missed. It is as if she was seeing her father come to life. Everything reminds her of his presence.
She wasn't able to respond immediately, as her senses are taking it all in and savoring the moment. It was a great feeling. Her father was the best memory of her childhood, and he was gone too soon. She miss him everyday.
"Do you know my father?" She asked, although almost hesitating for a moment. "Can I talk to him?"
Her voice was trembling, but she managed to speak. She was hoping she can talk to him again, albeit it is very impossible. But she was hoping. She believes in miracles.
"We all know each other. Music speaks a universal language. It speaks to us in different ways, but it means the same thing. We are all connected, whether it is love or misery. Especially misery. Misery breaks our hearts, and music finds its way to enter through the cracks and heal it."
"Heart? That's not what the heart do. It only pumps blood in order for it to circulate in our body."
"Child, whoever told you that lacks imagination."
