Chapter Thirty Six: The Veil of Heroism
Brent has never seen a girl so beautiful than her. Everytime he closes his eyes, he is seeing her in a different light, each enhancing the beauty that is already there. When he is listening to music, the thoughts of her fill him that it brings a joyful bliss to his heart. He thinks he is in love.
And yet, he wasn't sure if she was even real. He tried searching for her in places he's been, but wasn't successful in all attempts. Later on, he was convinced that she was just a character in a story in the distant past.
What if she was possessed by a creature that forces her to do things she did not want to do? She would be in big trouble, then. But this thought never really leaves him. If that would happen, maybe he can save her!
Ah, heroism. Not much has been said about that after the Literary Committee fell into treachery, pure evil of the Scientific Council. Heroes should be winning and saving other people all the time. But not like what had happened. Heroes just belong in the imagination of fools. That's what has been said.
But the Outcasts need rescuing, right? Will there be heroes that will emerge? Can someone really rely on what a hero is, then deliver them from their predicaments?
Whatever is right, there is just one thing inside his head: his heart never lies. He is in love. And no veil can stop him.
