Chapter 208: Clockwork

The prototype slowly rises from the water cube where it emerges, in the time when the physical clock has been prophetically appointed towards the way of enlightenment. The golden leaf was there, too, at the right side of the physical clock, where machine learning was fed into the robotic prototype's memory. It was Lucifer's version of a Cyborg (an army he has been dreaming for so long), only it was too hideous to become one, and too powerful to retain its sanity.

But the prototype was there, a clockwork full of promise, adorned in glory by its mechanical parts. Yet it was not a mere machine, it has a soul, and that's what makes it stronger and invincible. A soul can never be destroyed until the appointed time (only God's power can), and this very fact gives these clockworks a strength, an endurance, that is beyond the total reach of the angelic hosts.

Aside from these several advantages, however, a problem inconveniently presented itself. To replicate these pieces of clockwork requires the participation of both the physical clock and the scientific trust, to apply what was experimentally known at that time. Lucifer, the sinister lead summoner, needed access to most, if not all, of these knowledge, and no time shall ever be wasted. It is either a go for now or never.

Not everyone notices these parts of junk until they have been given life, and possess greater usefulness; a hypocritical approach to all forms of the immaculate that God has been put into play, for salvation is an evil paradox in itself that must be avoided at all cost.

And so it begun. His cunning treachery was ever present, as always, in the clever ways he maneuvered himself in their midst, stealing what was needed, studied every move, every step, every decision, and ultimately stole their infinite supply of precious time.

Time was god, indeed, in this instance.
