Chapter 194: The Angel's Senses

The Angel Adamus can hear the conversation, and clearly he must do something hastily:

"Where was it hidden, Cabot? Go ahead, say it. I know you know where it is hidden."

"Ezra? I don't understand. How could you arrive here so quickly? I do not understand."

"It doesn't matter, and I have no time for a little chit chat. Let me say the question again: Where is the golden leaf?"

"You will have to kill me first before you can reach it."

*sinister laugh*

"Oh, Cabot. You have never changed. You always say things you can never accomplish. My Magical Twig is twice as powerful as the plain wood that you are holding. Do not threaten me with your bleak courage, so give me the gold leaf. At once!"

"Lux splendida!"

*more sinister laugh*

"You plan to battle me, Cabot? The weakling? Such a shame. Such a waste of chants. You will force me to draw first blood even though you are unworthy as my opponent? Very well, your wish granted. And now, say goodbye to your friend Gapsworth."

"Vita! Crucius!"

*Ezra was knockdown as the chant hit him*

*Cabot looked from where the chant came from*

"Ezra? Another Ezra? But who is this?"

"There is no chance to explain for now, but he is the evil version of me. A part of my soul that was split to create another being. It was a scientific procedure, an experiment of sorts. Now, we must hurry. Good job, Gapsworth. You have been a great servant.

*the otter smiled gleefully*

"Come now. Immediately!"
