Chapter 201: The Only Known Remaining Alchemist
The visitor came early, unceremoniously, cloaked, and unannounced. But he was used to this kind of treatment, so nothing really matters enough to hurt his ego by any manner they want to approach him. He was not a fan of politicians, and his relations to them are purely on a professional level.
President Algebra wanted everything straightforward, so he narrated everything he was doing for Assemblyman Steam in trying to repress his literary inclinations. One by one, he explained the elixirs he had made, how he intended to administer it, and the appropriate counter-indications. He was very careful in conveying his rhetoric, because the President is a big client and he does not want to offend him.
"We cannot defer his literary inclinations any further," the Alchemist concluded.
"Are you certain of that?" President Algebra asked. "It seems too early."
"I am most certain, Your Excellency," the Alchemist assured him.
"Perfect," said the President. "Have you activated his literary imagination to do the things as I please? Can I further infiltrate his mind? Arouse his Anti-Plagiarist's oath? Have you done that elixir for me?"
President Algebra's tone suddenly changed. The situation has become tense.
"I did," the Alchemist said, after nearly hesitating.
"Very well," he said, very pleased with how things are going on so far. "I know I can count on you, John. Continue in making him believe that you are helping him. His fate will soon come to an end."
