Chapter 198: The Fellowship in the Past

A backstory.

This is not the time to be scared, to retreat, or to back down from a fight. The turning point is happening right now, and they must act swiftly, and, with faith, hoping against all odds. They must be victorious in defending humanity, and to stay true to the ideals of the Boondocks Scientific Trust.

So, the Summons went out, petitioning the Fellowship to guard what must be guarded, guide the collective wisdom, and improve in the inquiry of nature and reason. One fellow was strongly opposed to the idea, to meet in confidence by discussing every possible options available, unlike the rest. This has raised eyebrows in the Fellowship, and all sort of suspicions are brewing. Something is certainly not quite right.

But everything must proceed with certainty, and so the meeting has pushed through with the absence of this one Fellow. A lot of discussions focused on the present situation, and what must be done to advise the Imperial Synod, but nothing has been said about the mysterious killings happening in the future. One Fellow knows that it cannot be explained by purely scientific reason alone. Literary merit is wanting.

As the documents are drafted, and during the last days of this meeting by the Boondocks Scientific Trust, something happened in the See of Old. An invasion has been waged while the Empire was left blind and unguarded. It was a Consistory happening, while the Cardinals are overwhelmed by the attacking Cyborgs.

Suddenly, it slowly dawned on them, the most gallant Fellowship. 

One of them is the traitor.
