Chapter 157: Love Never Fails

A Demon may never know love, but strangely he does. And here he is.

Yes, this is an utter impossibility, a desecration of the sanctity of an antagonist, a sure pitfall of a story. Not that his story is untrue, or invalid, but for someone like him, love is a very peculiar thing.

He wasn't really sure about the sensation at first, having not experienced a feeling so foreign to him before. It was a great feeling, and he wasn't sure why he was feeling it, or why the feeling wasn't repulsive especially for someone like him. It is as if he was being drawn into something magical, and this very fact scares him.

Yes. He was scared. Really, really scared.

First, it is because love is a potent arsenal against him and his kind, and the very fact that he is harboring it is a complete treachery to their causes. A fallen angel like him could never attempt to return to the Heavens, not with his curse seething through him. This is simply headed into a disaster and he simply knows it. He must do something to stop it at all costs.

Second, he was too scared to let anybody know. The veil separates him from the girl, and it is breaking his heart, if ever he had one. He could not watch without breaking his own soul, and he cannot completely look at her this way anymore.

He must get away very fast; find an escape.
