Chapter 146: A Future Without God
A conversation is happening as we speak:
"Without God? Is there a God in the first place? The evidence has been clear and we have arrived at this disappointing conclusion. There is nothing much we can do."
"Then how will you determine the proof of the existence of the person of Jesus Christ, and his historicity? How can we just disregard the religious practices that we have been taught?"
"How about the beliefs of the Jews? And the Muslims? Why is evil still taking place? It is impossible to reconcile all of their sacred texts. One must have given up, by now. Religion is nothing more than a product of people's imagination."
"Imagination? This is simply outrageous. God is not a mere imagination. The Department is still deep into investigation as the result of these latest findings. Our destiny is with God and this discovery shouldn't change any of that."
"I am not here to debate the complex nature of religion with you, Mr. Secretary. The purpose of my visit is to furnish us a copy of the report so far of the Department. I am pretty sure your continued efforts have produced fruit by now. You are just refusing to face the facts as they are."
"This is a classified information, Rep. Provost. As you would know, the Intelligence Select Committee must authorize us to give you a..."
"I am a member of that Committee and you will furnish us a copy of your report before anything else happens. Is it clear?"
"Yes, Mr. Congressman. It will be done immediately."
