Chapter 112: Hypothesis

"Who could have done it? What went wrong?"

"I have really no idea. This is the first time that our deliveries have been intercepted. It was fortunate that the truck driver is dead."

"And our liquid solutions? Were they safe?"

"I believe so. It is being accounted for as we speak. The incident is also being investigated for possible breach of the Scientific Council Top Secret Operations Act."

"No, no. We cannot afford the Scientific Council to meddle with our affairs. This investigation must be stopped at all cost."

"I have to agree with you. But we cannot attract any more suspicion. This experiment is almost finished. The least we need is President Algebra's treachery."

"Our people at Fort Velocity cannot stall any further. They need the liquid solutions quickly and safely. We are so near to perfecting this weapon while they were busy admiring the Quantum Rifles, and the wait is excruciating."

"How should we report to the Scientific Assembly? Surely, they want any progress on the dangerous lizards."

Yes. Of course. We will give them what they want."

"And? What then?"

"Then nothing. People do not know what they do not know. We just need to give them what they expect. That way, our success is guaranteed."

"Do you think they would know about the hypothesis we are testing?"

*laughs*

"Their obsession with guns tells it all. There is no way they are going to be suspicious. All these different scientists working on separate laboratories to keep us uncoordinated and weak will be the death of President Algebra's pride."

"But we cannot afford any more attack."

"Yes. But this attack is probably good for us, after all."

*eyes wide open*
