Chapter Twelve: The Trees of the Magical Forests

Brent's meeting with the dwarf was a risk he was willing to take. Under the border dome, all mythical creatures are banned forever, most of them were abandoned in a sacred place they cannot escape, but only a few avoided this tyrannical clasp by hiding behind the trees of the forest. They are called the tree dwellers.

Although the tree dwellers refused to be part of the Agreement, they did provide assistance to the causes. They knew what was happening from the very beginning. They've seen the greed of the Scientific Council, they have seen the murders being committed, heard the agony of those persecuted, and saw how the collective humanity was slowly fading.

They've seen it all. But they remained quiet. They want to protect their magical forests. And they knew that under the border dome, their forests are safe from the dangerous lizards.

The City needs oxygen from the trees in these forests, and the dwarves that inhabit them were a necessary accessory. The scientists knew that they have to contend with the dwarves, if they are to keep the forests so a treaty has been signed. Under this new rule, the dwarves are to keep their territory and the City will continue receiving the oxygen.

Except that, crossing the demarcation line will result to very dire circumstances. Everyone has been warned.
