Chapter 261: Substantial Threat

From the Bishop of the See of Old
Dicastery of the Guards
Exhortation on Possible Threats

:::

Dear Brethren,

It is with great regret that I confirm the validity of these threats raised by our beloved brother, the Principal Legate of the Bishophric of Dunster, relating to the many schemes identified through this solemn Dicastery about the possible attacks that might pursue once this Exhortation has circulated within the Imperial Synod, and I ask the Prefect of the Synodal Assembly to make this matter an urgent appeal to our fellow canonical Bishoprics, to consider its contents as a credible threat that may result to extreme peril.

The danger ahead can never be underestimated at this point, and the Nodal Guards have been alerted for a possible misleading infiltration of intelligence efforts as the Empire is subdued into a tactical move to deceive the Synod from all respects of its security preservation.

There is no real motivation for involved parties to actually ask for a peace process as earlier announced, because it was revealed to be more deceptive as of the writing of this Exhortation. The See of Old have been surrounded on all fronts, and an imminent attack is waiting to happen at any moment.

It is the purpose of this letter to ask our Bishoprics to abandon any plans going to the See of Old, specifically for the purposes of attending the discussion of this peaceful resolution, because it will serve as a trap that has been planned by the enemies not so long ago. The main aim of this meeting is for the Bishops to congregate in one place to eradicate the leaders of the Imperial Synod by inviting them to this noble purpose, only to be mercilessly slaughtered later on.

I ask of you to refrain from discussing the contents of this letter to anybody, for fear that a more ruthless plan will follow extensively after a failed attempt to deliver the urgent message. It is our desire from the Dicastery to keep matters in secret until a viable solution can be achieved on the other side.

It is my fervent wish that this letter will reach you in time, by the means of the Prefect of the Synodal Assembly. The danger is real and cannot be denied. A swift action is necessary. Your reply is most desired by sending an acknowledgement of receipt with an immediate response.

May the eternal hope find us all.

Yours in brotherhood,

The Cardinalem Prefect
