Chapter 243: The Orbs of Fire
There are many things that spark a fire within us: the flame of glory, the existential light, the fierceness of bravery, the courage of chivalry, and so much more. The Neyorks have these elements in their heart which burns like a raging inferno, totally illuminating the path of vision, which is a crucible of melted desires for the good, and that which must follow the pattern of the soul and unleash its buried light from the spirit within, souls bared, and the voice inside is vividly pronounced.
Ours, like many others, is a spirit rekindled from the original tongues of fire that descended from above; it evolved into several forms that became the source of crucial virtues, the complete library of them, and of which the greatest is love. Indeed, faith fuels the furnace of our soul to emit that sacred light from the cracks of our hearts, acknowledging having a little brokenness inside us, where the flames illuminate us from the depth of our soul.
This brokenness is lifted from our desire to live, to find that missing piece that will complete us. Like in matrimony, a man finds a woman, who is technically his missing rib by virtue of the creation narrative of the Holy Scriptures, to whom he ties the knot and they are then consecrated by God and their love for one another; they are no longer two individuals but one, and for this important theological consequence, they have perfected the fullness of creation.
It must be said that the fire inside us is far different from the fire raging down below, where the flames consume the material manifestation of one's own substance, destroying the flesh, and all things created by the power of the Word, to whom they have also owned their temporal existence. It is in this pit called hell is where destruction is angrily devouring all things temporary, but cannot damage the eternal part of the substance that has been touched by creation, for which the torment comes from this inability to wither and die through this fiery storms that we can never weather on our own.
The orb of fire is something not to be feared, in spite of this, once complete control of the situation was mastered, where the flames could come from the eternal tongues of flame within us, inside our souls, and not from that bad furnace that consume or destroy.
A flame within is, therefore, a renewal of spirit.
There are many theories revolving around these orbs that was once been considered as something dangerous to possess. For a certain time, they were outlawed for the risk it carries to the one owning the orbs. No argument could have persuaded the Bishop of Old nor convince the wise counsel to be made by the Imperial Synod.
It is due to the Second Friend's pioneering work in perfecting the convocation of these orbs that reduced the known risks into a concern of complete trust and confidence, that they were finally accepted without fears and reservation. The status of the Neyorks was then codified and ordained; they have been acknowledged as the free practitioners of a certain art form.
Many believed that the efforts made to stabilize the way the orbs were invoked was due to the close cooperation with the Boondocks Scientific Trust, which provided for, eventually, by the groundbreaking discovery of heat as a form of energy.
In the real world, this assertion is known as the Laws of Thermodynamics.
This may be a good or bad thing, but one matter is for certain: the fire above and the fire below have nothing more of a temporal difference, and the thin line separating the two are slim, and delicate, and weak.
And as history will later on tell it to the world, this matter is a fatal blow that will destroy everything that has been hoped for.
