Chapter 218: The Ghost Writer

No one knows how, when, and why this sacred writing has ever existed, but it is here now, fully alive and soulful, and how clever this invention was! Writing allows us to escape, and to travel and reach far greater heights; it allows us to dream, to see the world as it is, or gain wisdom through the lens of another person. It is a learning experience, a journey, that takes us to places we never knew ever existed.

Perhaps all writing became a necessity because the soul is yearning to speak, but despite consistent efforts it is always to no avail. Writing always appears to be a tedious path that someone must master on his own, if not to enjoy his own company, or to talk nonsense to himself. Solitude may sometimes be an important element of this mysterious process.

The Department of Ghosts had no idea that this was their gift, to write literature, both for arts and scientific pursuit, and it leaves them clueless as to the talents they possess. Although almost all ghosts are capable, there is a Departmental designation called Ghost Writers who are certified literary geniuses of their time.

One of the Ghost Writers, who is a very romantic poet, was writing about the two girls. One of them was talking to her inner self about the wondrous content of arts and humanities, while the other one was needing a savior from an unlikely hero. These two girls are the focal point of the Ghost's prose, that although it was convincingly romantic, it was likely to end very tragic.

Tragedy is unavoidable, indeed. In literature, as long as suffering is not permanent, it is necessary. That is how it views the world. This Ghost, like the many ones, was sometimes bitter to the writing of romance. An unfortunate turn of events, as someone aware of it might have said.
