Chapter Ninety Six: The Department of Ghosts

The Ghost Questers were feeling it, too. But it was not a good feeling. They have felt something wrong, something that is too far disruptive that matters should be taken with more caution, and with immediate, parochial concern. The Department of Ghosts must see it more timely to act on a serious matter.

It was the strong wind that bothers them. The Department has its roots traced on death as an adventure; a state that is produced by the souls who has just anchored on their dreams through active neurons. They are living memories of aims and regrets. The interplay of goals and fantasies give the Department with its long-held tradition of poise and grace.

The problem at hand has affected a lot of factors in their civilization. Ever since the first ghost appeared out of nowhere, their existence has been a disputed mystery and philosophical assumptions have been held in pursuit of knowledge. The ghosts hold the power of guiding dreams into a reality, and destiny is a serious commodity.

The Department has grown from a very small society into an advanced State, even though the portal has been sealed and shut years ago. They, too, had been banned.

But everything they have forgotten they can no longer remember, and now they will be used as pawns in a deadly war that will result to the ill fates of others; and as destinies will be told, and so is their future.

All the fates have been sealed in the Department's Palace, and no one is allowed to touch the Tales of Old, for fear of it will cause their self-destruction.

One of these long-held power of dreams is the crystal known as the Massachu. All the time they have cared for this crystal which is enshrined in the Canonical Chambers. Legend has it that they are the ones to keep it safe. Keep it from being misused.

Now, the stakes are much higher as a civil war is hanging at the edges of politics. It will be unforgiving, and deaths, plenty of them, will become inevitable.
