Chapter Eighteen: A Conversation

"How did this happen? I thought everything was alright. I have changed my allegiance. You said there is no need for elixirs, but what is happening now? I want answers!"

"It seems that everything has been crowded. There's a lot of things going on. Your neurons are starting to betray you. Again. How long can we ask the Ghost Writers? That I never know."

"You never know? You said you have the solution!"

"A solution? Can you make your mind clouded if your heart is speaking? Can the mind destroy what a big heart cannot?"

"I have changed my allegiance. It is sufficient. I have made my decisions according to the economic models. I have followed the rules, believed in the scientific methods. I have embraced systematic inquiry by the book. What is still wrong with me?"

"What is wrong with you? No. There is nothing wrong with you. You just have a good heart."

"I thought you are here to help me? Am I destined to be an Outcast?"

"Can science concern itself with destiny other than giving things in order? No, it cannot. Destiny still attaches itself to our own humanity. This is bad. Very bad."

"I am a good decision maker. I have embraced the sciences to the core. I am a professed economist!"

"I am seeing things that the Ghost Writer wanted me to see, but cannot ascertain what it is. For now, take your elixirs."

"Please help me!"

"I promise."
