Chapter 232: St Francis of Assisi Professor of Spiritual Exercise

The St Francis of Assisi Professor was as bewildered as everyone else, and he has strong suspicions to believe that the firewall wasn't compromised, but that the attack is coming from within. There is absolutely no sense in Heavenly knowledge to be able to accomodate death in the midst of Grace. Somewhere out there, as his expertise in Spiritual Exercise will allow him, there is an enemy lurking, but more than the inside than outside as it seems.

"Is it nearly possible for them to bypass Grace?" the Commodore of the Three Branches of Service abruptly asked him. "Clearly it is not possible, isn't it so?"

Professor James Bucket nodded his assent, but he is not exactly certain. A lot of matters are in his mind, and this particular case has challenged his expertise. It is quite not possible for evil to infiltrate Grace, but the firewall was working without issues as well. Suddenly, there was confusion and the two gentlemen share the same predicament.

"Regarding the firewall, was the investigation already picked up a lead? Surely, a hole or any any other form of tamper might have breached it?"

The Commodore was quick to respond.

"No. There were no leads so far. This case is very mysterious, and we have not encountered this type of investigation before. That is why we are requiring your expertise."

"Very well," the professor replied. "If there was no reason to believe that the attack came from outside, then something is wrong from within. If we must, we shall test Grace and its efficacy, but this will open the Celestial Borders to vulnerability. We need all the support we can get from you, Commodore."

"I understand. And we must hurry. We cannot let any enemy to be thriving within us and then defeat us in the end."
