Chapter 228: Archiepiscopal Encyclical on the Dangers Present
See of Old, Cathedral
Imperial Synod
Chancery of the Bishop,
primus inter pares
:: DANGERS AHEAD
Brethren:
I am writing before you as a vessel of our shared aspirations, of love and order, of peace and tranquility, and of justice and health. This is a letter of such magnitude as to protect our minds, the very means by which we share humanity and intellect. There are dangers ahead.
Regarding these recent events, it is within the precepts of reason that I write to you, to warn you of an impending danger of rebellion, considering the volatile conditions we are currently facing. The Imperial Synodality is exhibiting greater symptoms of unsatisfaction in which we conduct our affairs, and it is a silent oppression within our common respect and understanding.
Please do consider, my dear Brethren, that we cannot simply ignore the wishes of those concerned by which their minds involve hope and the ultimate search for truth, to which I implore that we must reform this Most Gracious See to conform to the needs of the times.
I ask all of you, all other Bishopric Sees, to consider wider freedoms as a matter of fulfilled greatness, to immediately seek remedy to this brewing discontent, for which we have made unintentionally as a matter of tradition, and of that we shall graciously offer reform.
And so I must ask all the Cardinals made and those to be, to meet in a Consistory as soon as this encyclical has been released, to reflect on matters by which we must reform and meet what is satisfactory in consideration of the most favored causes, to bring reason to life, to satisfy love and science. Not to seek revenge from which we disassociate, but to have them opened as a matter of rewarding discourse to an everlasting goal.
I shall be glad to meet you in the most convenient times.
Let the Seal of my Most gracious See be affixed on this most gallant Encyclical to testify to the greatness of its content.
(Sgd.) reverendi Albert, Bishop of Old
