Chapter 314: A Lonely Tree

In a barren and empty land, a lone Tree proudly exists. It is a massive tree, with a big trunk, large leaves, sturdy branches, and powerful magical properties. From the strength of this tree, one can create the most powerful magical twig that can ever be created to exist under the established knowledge of Magical Forestry.

Many call this Tree as the "Ancestral Tree" because of its immense potential source of magical power, a rare material that is consistently being pursued by those seeking greater strength and forces. It is during this time of discovery when magical advancements are being tested that blurs the metaphysical boundaries of things existing, while it also propagates the clear distinction of the relationship between illusion and transfiguration that defies all things that may lead to risks and unknown tragedy, if indeed abnormal consequences are triggered unexpectedly from the methods in this subject of unexplored territory.

But of course, experimentations begin to gain traction in the succeeding periods that followed this era; even within the Imperial Synod, research is a super sensitive subject that significant developments need not to be discussed openly so as not to attract unwanted public scrutiny. It is later on revealed that most of these substances contribute to the expansion of the dangerous time wasps that also weakens the effectivity within the approved time travelling use of the Physical Clock.

As the dangerous rhetoric ultimately developed that tarnished the efficacy of the words, spells, and the chants, the careful manufacture of the Magical Twigs began to decline within the Empire. It commenced as a complete mystery at first, with most of the Bishops believing that the power source of the Twigs themselves have started to wane, and the proper use of the weapon may be coming to an end.

But the impetus will never be depleted for it does not certainly work in that manner; the earlier views surrounding Magical Forestry at that time have been supplanted by the factual discovery of the presence of ghosts (later on identified as the true nature of the Dwarves), and an inevitable but mutually beneficial alliance have been consequentially formed within them. It was generally regarded that the discovery of the first batch of these Ghosts have been found in this lonely Tree.

The Ancestral Tree has been missing for many centuries now. Nobody was able to benefit from its glorious materials ever again, save for a few occasions, and there was a good reason why it was vanished from the reach of those who wishes to gain greater power.
