Chapter 273: Fundamentals of Guardianship
After the Tenured Associate Professor of Guardianship, Stefan Guildsver, collected the class cards from his (overly excited) first year students, he quickly made a brief introduction of the course GUARD 100, specifically the main topics that needed to be discussed in the duration of the semester. The course is a three unit subject, which means that the lecture for the course is equivalent to three hours per week.
"Guardianship is one of the most noble aspect of Angelship that needs to be discussed thoroughly because of its universal application in all three branches of service, wherever you might end up joining later on as major and prepare you into your prospective careers. Despite of what you might have heard from your upper classmen, this course is vital to your survival here at Burnhall University," the professor said in a mellow tone of voice.
He continued.
"In this course, we will discuss the three main elements of guardianship that is all common to the choirs of Angels. These are: the Soul, the Conscience, and the Body. Of these three elements, the academic discussion regarding the substance of the Soul is quite complex, in which it traverses the thin line between divine nature and the free will given to mankind. Along the sensitive inquiry of this aspect is the power of God, contained in the grace and the will of the divine, as it relates to the behavior of the ward, the independence of the mind of the ward, and the repercussions of the actions of thought."
The class was quickly scribbling notes as Professor Guildsver continued the introductory concepts of the course.
"This thin line is, then, to be defended through adequately established cases of intervention that authorizes an Angel to intercede for, and on behslf of, the ward by virtue of the efficacious use of prayers and faith, and by the extension of faith through the potential motion afforded by love. Many cases that will be introduced in this class are those that will involve the motion of the universe and its intricate relationship with the equality of love and faith."
"When will faith become as great as love, so as to authorize the movenent of invisible prescriptions that were ultimately caused by the outside influence of faith in the matter of supplications? When will prayer achieve the true substance of faith, and why it is to be related to the impetus created by love, ever conserved and unfailing, from the divine source and into the mechanism fo the endless flowing of grace through all of creation?"
Professor Guildsver stopped for a moment to see his students still busy taking notes, a very striking characteristic of freshmen students at a great institution like Burnhall.
He then proceeded with the lecture.
"One of the great equations, first proposed by Archangel Emerlinde, provide the working definition of Guardianship, which is stated as a direct function of the three elements, i.e., Soul × Conscience × Body, where the Body may be further developed into the equation of Pleasure × Blessedness as a direct result of free will and the interaction of the divine and the secular, and the experience of reality."
