Chapter 265: A Noble Huntsman

Tangerine was busy looking for the best, plump, and ripe apples when she heard two individuals speaking. They were just behind the tall bushes in between the two tallest apple trees.

"It will be done at once, Your Majesty," the Huntsman said to the Evil Queen. He saluted with his sword, and then bowed down to pay respects as a gesture of loyalty.

"I want The Prince Urban dead at all cost," the Evil Queen responded. "You will present his heart to me at this exact place when the appointed time has come. And don't even try to fool me with my orders, Sir, for I know too well how to identify a genuine human heart. You do understand what I mean, correct?"

"I do, Your Majesty," the Huntsman said.

"I know this is also hard for you, being one of the most loyal army to His Royal Highness, that is why I chose you for this more important task. He will not suspect anything evil coming from you," the Evil Queen stated as a matter of fact.

The Huntsman bowed his head to properly acknowledge what was said about him with sincerity.

"My loyalty to him is no more, my Lady, after what he has done to my person."

"Which one of his foolish acts shifted your loyalty to me?" the Evil Queen asked with a mocking voice. "Did he rob you of your dignity?"

"Much more than that, Your Majesty," he said in a bitter tone.

"If this is not about the worldly treasures to collect, then maybe this is about some tragic romantic insinuations?"

The Huntsman remained silent. There were tears in his eyes.

"He ordered them killed," he simply said.

The Evil Queen laughed so hard, louder than necessary. She was fully aware of the orders causing these incidents, and just wanted to ask the question to confirm straight from the horse's mouth.

"Are you planning a form of retribution while he was on exile?" the Evil Queen asked, almost suggesting the act. "You know very well how he also hated Herenius, his very own son."

"I am only a noble Huntsman for now, my Lady. I am in need of orders from competent royals, and I do not wish to do it for my own desires. I am still under oath, and I consider myself to be forever bound by these sacred vows."

Tangerine quickly recognized the name Herenius, and she quickly went on her way to tell her Mistress everything that she have heard on the other side of the bushes.

Meanwhile, the Evil Queen responded to what was clearly stated by someone honorable. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear."
