Chapter Twenty Five: Lapse of Reality

The Taxonomists saw it. It was too clear to be missed by someone with a sane mind, and they were very much afraid. The horizon seems to be melting, and fire was seeping through the cracks. For awhile, they were stuck from where they were and cannot move. Their reflexes were failing them.

As it was happening, the Taxonomists tried to make sense of the situation by looking at the people in the streets, and the bystanders as the phenomena unfolds. But none of them seems to know what is happening. By this time, the fires are consuming the horizon as they watching it horribly with their strained eyes.

How is this even possible? Was there a problem in the time capsule? The Taxonomists looked at each other and knew what they were all thinking: is the Literary Committee back?

After the fire, different creatures emerged from the cracks; but still, nobody seems to be oblivious of the things happening around them. One of the creatures tried to attack the Taxonomists so they used their quantum riffles against them. But the creatures overpower them, so they retreated to their vehicles and make a run for it. What they left behind are different magical creatures from literature, waiting to infect someone with humanist thoughts.

It was a lapse of reality. It was an unseen enemy. The battle is about to begin.
