Chapter 289: The Commodore's Query

The Commodore of the Three Branches of Service was looking out the window from his office after reading the report on the recent incident at the Cathedral and the invasion of evil elements that possibly breached the Firewall and the blessings made to the solemn state of the Burn Hall. He was thinking deeply of the situation now at hand, and the severity of its case that allowed it to be possible.

Someone knocks at the door.

"Come in. The door is open," the Commodore said.

An Archangel named Romulus entered the room with a snappy salute; the Commodore returned the gesture with his own after turning around to meet the expected guest with the desired paperworks in hand.

"I have been expecting you, Romulus. What is the latest?" the Commodore asked. His tone was indicative of a grave concern, almost like anxiety.

"I guess it is possible, sir," Archangel Romulus responded.

"It is possible that Satan is now gaining entry into the Frontline? How did he do it?" the Commodore asked, startled. It was totally unbelievable that an instance such as this was indeed happening.

"More Alchemic tests are being done to ascertain the mode of transit. At this point, the basic formula provided by the report of the Pangea Commission was certainly breached, sir," Romulus said with certainty.

"You mean that this is worse than the act of Mortal Sin? That a certain act of Sacrilege was more than responsible to this attempted breach in our Firewall?"

"Yes, sir," Romulus replied affirmatively. "It seems that there is another element that is involved in this audacious act besides the presence of evil, thoughts, and actions that formally comprise the Pangea basic definition. Right now, we are running laboratory tests to see if the Alchemic property can be determined based on our numerous hypotheses."

"Then there is a higher level of infraction that can be committed besides mortal sin? What is this suspicious element you are talking about?"

"The particles of the Spindle of Hate, sir."
