Chapter 251: The Monsters are Hungry
Although the Cyborgs have no idea about the monsters underneath that is mainly responsible for the lasting peace experienced in all of their territories, the creatures are still ferocious and dangerous and kept in their current location as a question of precaution, which is a knowledge not generally known by the Cyborgs, or anyone else for that matter. But today, the President of the Woolswood Federation has read everything about it from the Book of Chants, presented in a detailed historical account of what has transpired in those days. The Book has gotten everything most of the historical facts correct, including the historicity of the founders of the Cyborgs, the beginning of their civilization, and their quest for survival. All of the accounts are true, except for the mention of the monstrous creatures that are living underneath their territories.
He knew from the beginning that there is something odd about this Book when he saw it glowed for the first time. How can it know the whole history of the Cyborgs, and then present an entirely new tale about this world far below the Dark Sea, where mythical creatures abound? And who is this Ezra Dunster to know for certain? Could this be a trap?
Despite the very idea sounding quite frivolous, the Federation President was quite disturbed upon reading those pages that relate to the world of these monsters, and he cannot help it but to inquire if an exploration can be made below the Dark Sea to know for sure if those things discussed by Ezra Dunster relating to this supposed secretive domain, if ever, was true.
He immediately closed the Book to stop his imagination from going too far, while he was busy admiring the physical book and its leather bound. He needs to be resolute and act fast. Could they? Is it perilous? Can they send ships to explore? Are the creatures really capable of eating hatred in order for the peace to subsist?
He needed answers to his thoughts. There was a nagging feeling inside him, and that the only way to find out if the narration (of this Book of Chants) was accurate, if by any chance, is, if they actually resolve to do an exploration. But how? Who would volunteer to do a job full of uncertainty, with possible death and no promise of safe return?
The strong determination is about to overcome any doubts introduced by the possible dangers of the desire in satisfying this basic Cyborg curiosity, and the fulfillment of what destiny brings can never be delayed forever.
